Handyman Member Testing Feedback on Microplane®’s Stainless Steel Sandpaper  Fall 2005
500 Woodworkers just reviewed our new Stainless Steel Medium Sandpaper and we got a 91% positive response rate.  Below are some of the most interesting comments.

“I have just received “time” in the mail. I am now able to cut my finish time on my sanding in half. With Microplane® sanding isn’t a chore anymore.”

“Sanding always seems to be one of those dreaded but necessary tasks and Microplane® almost made it fun; but certainly made it faster and easier.”

“This sanding disc is the best I have ever used for removing large amounts of stock quickly. A few seconds with this disc, a quick touch-up with fine sandpaper, and you are done! I have used this on pine, oak, poplar, plywood, and walnut. It works equally well on all the above. In fact, the plywood probably would have tore up a normal sandpaper sheet since it was really rough, but the stainless steel took it and keeps on going. I’m still using the first disc!”

To be fair, we're listing the summary of the negative comments below:

• Performed more like a coarse grit than medium grit – (5 people)
• Did not like the finish because it left a rough               surface/gouges/scratches/fuzzy surface – (5 people) (Microplane Response: Possible too much pressure was applied?)
• VELCRO would not stick to the sander – (4 people)
• Didn’t work well on corners/edges – (4 people)
• Disc was hard to remove from the sander – (3 people)
• Member couldn’t test the product because it was “hook and loop” instead of “stick-on”. – (3 people)
• The disc clogged – (3 people)
• Didn’t like the finish because they only do fine sanding – (2 people)
